LAGLOBE started Its first semester in Salamanca
On September 16th 2019, the first cohort of 17 LAGLOBE students arrived to the city of Salamanca (Spain) to officially begin the program.
This first promotion comes from 12 different countries: Bolivia, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Ghana, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom and Uruguay.
Early in the morning, the students had the opportunity to meet our team and the three Directors of our Consortium’s Latin American Studies Institutes. Representing the Instituto de Iberoamerica (University of Salamanca), Professor Francisco Sanchez, for the Institute des Hautes Etudes de l’Amérique Latine (Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3 University) Professor Capucine Boidin and for the Nordic Institute of Latin American Studies (Stockholm University) Professor Andres Rivarola.
The official inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the University of Salamanca, Professor Ricardo Rivero, the President of the Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3 University, Professor Jamil Dakhlia, and in representation of Stockholm University, Professor Karin Bergmark, the President’s Senior Advisor for international affairs.
The ceremony took place in the historic Unamuno conference room with a conference by our keynote speaker, Paola Amadei, Executive Director of the European Union – Latin America and Caribbean Foundation (EU-LAC Foundation).
